Our Services and
How They Work!
How does the service work?

It's pretty simple.  We come to your home on a predetermined day, and remove all of the
"gifts" your dog has left for you.
Areas that runny stool has been delivered, are sprayed
with a special disinfectant, as are our shoes, tools and anything else coming in contact with
fecal matter.
At this time, the waste has been bagged.  It is then placed into two more
bags (triple bagged) and taken away for disposal.  Disinfectant is used to eliminate the
spread of disease as we travel house to house.

What if I'm not home?

Not a problem.  Most of our customers are at work when we arrive for the service.  If you
lock your back yard gate, arrangements can be made to provide us with a key or the
combination.  We'll handle getting a copy of the key made if needed.

Do I have to sign a contract?

Nope.  Give us a call, or send an email, requesting service, and we'll come over to meet
you and your dog(s).  At that time, we can assist you in deciding which service is right for
you.  We'll decide on a day and time, and that's it!  You can cancel the service by phone or
email, but we ask for at least 72 hours notice so that we can alter our routes.

Do you clean kennels?

Yes.  We spray down the kennel with on-site water, then apply disinfectant to the entire
kennel.  The disinfectant used is designed for this purpose.

Can you work when my dog is in the yard?

Usually we can, but there are those instances when a particular dog is quite territorial, and
until he or she gets to know us, and that it's alright for us to be in "their" yard, they might
remain aggressive.  In these rare circumstances, we ask that you keep him or her inside,
or secured in another part of the yard.

Do you provide service year round?

Yes.  In our area, the climate is such that we can work year round.  There may be
exceptions to this during periods of heavy rains, thunderstorms, and hail.  If this is an
issue, we will make up the day, later in the week if possible, or resume the following
week.

Do you work on Holidays?

We are closed on major holidays.  If a holiday falls on your service day, service will
resume the following day, or shortly thereafter.  This applies for our vacation times as well.

My vet wants a stool sample from my dog for medical reasons.  Can you help me out?

We can collect a sample, leaving it bagged up for you.  If the vet is local, we can even
arrange to deliver it!

Why should I pay for this kind of service?  What's the benefit?

Many of our clients are extremely busy people who just run out of time.  They find that they
barely have time to do what has to be done
in the house, let alone picking up after their
pet!.  Some of our clients are folks who simply are not able to clean their yards due to
physical limitations.

Waste matter from dogs is laden with diseases, attracts flies, and can pollute local water
tributaries.  It can violate local ordinances if left too long, and create tensions between
neighbors due to the smell.

What happens when I find a few gifts left behind after K-9KleenUp cleared my yard for
lawn mines?

Call us!  We're human too. (for the most part)  It's important for us to know if we're doing
our job right.  When we clean, we use a circular search pattern AND a grid pattern.  Why?
Depending on lighting conditions, weather, stool condition and terrain, an approach from
one direction may not reveal the stool matter.  But, an approach from another angle
usually reveals the stool.  This mainly applies when we're scooping in grassy areas.
When the job is done, and we're walking to our truck, some dogs love to walk out to the
lawn or other deposit area, look at us, smile, and leave a farewell gift!  It happens!   BUT, if
there is stool left behind that appears to have been there prior to us arriving for service,
CALL US!  We will come back and clean it up!

What type of payment do you accept?

We accept checks, money orders, and cash.  Soon, we will accept credit cards as well.

Are there any additional benefits to having this kind of service?

Yes!  Through repetition in scoopin' poop, we can tell whether or not your dog's poop
appears "normal."  We may see indications of worms or other parasites, or that the stool
appears too soft or runny.  Okay, stop laughing...I know what you're thinking!  Anyway,
some of the same things your Vet may look for, are what we can see as well!  Whatever
we find that appears abnormal, we will tell you at the time, or make a note of it and call you
later to discuss it.

Additional information

While K-9 KleenUp does our best to remove all animal waste, there are conditions that
make our service more difficult, and creates the possibility of some missed lawn mines.
Examples of this are garbage left in areas that the dog makes his/her deposits, frequent
movement of large items within the "poop zone" and overgrown grass!  Overgrown grass
is the main issue we encounter.  It is nearly impossible to locate stool in these areas as
once the grass becomes two and three feet in length, it also becomes quite thick!
We are fully insured!
